Social Media Marketing is all about communication. People talking to people online.
It's the new way to connect with your customers.

Facebook: Interact with your customers, mainly in the 18 to 35 age bracket. Choose from a group page, a business page or pay per click advertising to promote your business online.

Blogs: With your own blog, you have unlimited space to tell your customers and general public about your business. If you aren't able to make quick updates to your website, or if your website doesn't have a "News" section, a blog is a quick and painless way to put updates about your business online.

Twitter: It's all about microblogging. You've got 140 characters to say whatever you need to say and have micro conversations with the community.

Linkedin: Put your own career details online, then connect and network with business people all over the world.

It's tempting to sign up for all of these social media outlets but it takes time to update all of them, all of the time. If you're just starting out on social media, choose one or two and keep them updated regularly.
